Herbs and Spice - new site and shop

Bangalore folks have probably heard of the European restaurant "Herbs and Spice" in Indiranagar. It's run by Manjit Singh, a friend of mine. Manjit has just started a delicatessen in Whitefield with the same name. It sells their well-known desserts, as well as quiches and gourmet sandwiches. (The sandwiches will be introduced soon.)

Since Manjit changes his restaurant menu twice a week, I suggested that he start a web site to make his customers aware of the day's menu. And I adapted WordPress to do just that. So, ladies and gentlemen, I give you...

http://herbsandspice.in

The header images are from photos I've shot (full set is here.) Some stuff still isn't updated (like the "about page") but the main purpose is fullfilled. :)

Thanks to the calendar view, you can also check out previous menus.

So if you visit Herbs n' Spice, tell Manjit that I asked you to check out his site.

Nice.

But ...given my reluctance to drive in Blr traffic, I will probably never vist....when will someone think that South Bangalore folks would also appreciate a good restaurant? We really don't enjoy braving the traffic to get to Church Street at the very least...so we go to our local SLV...

think about this - the guys out in the north and the east don't have access to a good SLV. I mean, we need to drive far for a "special" meal while we have the "normal breakfast type" nearby!

those guys have all the special stuff close by but need to travel for a good idli sambar!

The branch off 100 Ft Road (the original branch AFAIK) is much more accessible. Just cross CMH Road, turn off at the Domino's and ask.

well, well, welcome back...long time no see no hear, on LJ!

I resolved some years ago, not to take the car unless absolutely necessary; this painful resolution means, not much of gallivanting except for afternoon hours when buses are reasonably usable.

Let him know that I've sung his praises to every one I know heading to Blr. I always go to Herb and Spice when I'm in Blr, just like I go to a certain other place as well ;)

And, not that you dont have things to do, but in the spirit of open source, you probably want to look at adding this (heh):

I've been there a couple of times. Found the place to be overcrowded and overrated. Service sucked, the food was just about ok, not really worth it.

Then again, this was a year or more back, so I'm not sure if it has changed now. Or maybe it's a different restaurant?

Are you referring to the older one in Whitefield?

I just asked him the same thing

Think I'm rather late in discovering this blog, but nonetheless...loved the pics of all the food.

The restaurant right now is a li'l too far..but for now, I'll make do with the blog :)

Brother,

You need to update the site a bit . . . at least correct the address for the Indiranagar branch.

Many folks will thank you. :)

That should be interesting because the last time I visited, there was already a place in Whitefield called Herbs and Spices. It should keep everyone busy for a while :)

Hey :) I had no idea you and Manjit knew each other.
Was nice seeing you!
We've been regular there for years now.

And I noticed the bit about the new one in Whitefield too on the ads there.
I assume this has nothing to do with the older H&S that was there in Whitefield.

That was just a regular restaurant, right?
An old Bungalow or something.

I've won a trip to Bangalore this summer after my easy saver complaints application has been properly processed and I'd love to walk in your friend's restaurant but, unfortunately, Herbs and Spice is "cooking a new site" now.
