Italian for a change

music: Peter Cetera and Paul Anka - Hold me till the morning comes

I'm trying to take food photos in other environments too (thanks kalyan for setting me off), and since I was having lunch at the Italian restaurant at The Park, I thought, hey, why not shoot some pictures of the food?

Shortly after ordering our food, a bread basket arrives with various kinds of bread:

And there was a nice big jar of extra virgin olive oil to go along:

The soup, a porcini mushroom soup, was just brown and not photogenic in the least, so I skipped it.

My main course, a grilled fish on a bed of polenta and surrounded by pesto:

Dessert was this Creme Brulée with three kinds of chocolate:

And the final bit was the dark chocolate balls flambéd in brandy provided by the restaurant:

All in all, a wonderful afternoon out. And the food was pretty darn good too.

Thanks.

The damn sun kept playing hide and seek, and since we were inside a restaurant inside a hotel, I couldn't do much about it. The last couple of pics got ruined because of that.

Come to think of it, I should used a larger f/stop with the dessert photo. :(

Awww... spread the lurvve, not the hate. Share good food and be merry.

(and even if I could somehow get all this food to you, you wouldn't be able to eat much of it anyway na? ;)

Hi there...perhaps, you are the best person to ask about some good Italian restaurants in Bangalore. I have yet to go to Fiorona (sp?) in Koramangala, but Little Italy was not the best..and I have yet to go to the one in Park. Thanks!

Herbs & Spice in Indiranagar down the road from my restaurant.

Bangalore Bistro in Cunningham Road.

The afore-mentioned I.T.Alia in The Park, of course.

From what I've heard of Fiorano, it's probably best given a miss. I haven't been there, however.

Correlation

Is there any correlation between the serving size of food at an X cuisine restaurant and X people. Eg. Atleast at all Italian restaurants the food portions are pretty sufficient and so are the Italians (ie an average Italian is "healthy"- for a lack of politically correct word.) .. However Greek restaurants are expensive and serving portions are "Small" (atleast for me -and I'm have a normal appetite) and the average greek is not as fat/healthy as Italians....
